2024/2025 Theatre Managers

Theatre Department 2024/2025 Positions

MENTEES

Information will be coming regarding Mentee positions at the beginning of the 2024/2025 school year.  Mentees may be any grade but must also be in a Theatre class for the 2024/2025 school year. 

Drama Awards Managers: Chloe Burroughs, Simone Dotson, Kai Macaninch, Kylee Clark, Nia Dillon

  • Work with Gilligan to create the theme of the event

  • Enlist a large crew to set up and break down the event.

  • Attend all the drama awards meetings with the Parent VP’s.

  • Maintain order during the event.

  • Coordinate student volunteers for lighting and sound (to include the karaoke setup) for the event.

Talent Show Managers: Aimee Soriano, Henley Ellwanger, Kylee Clark

  • Organize the tech team and support team for the event.

  • Obtain the judges and create thank you gifts for them for the event.

  • Assist with the selection of acts – to include the auditions.

  • Obtain the Hosts.

  • Assist the hosts in all aspects of the event.

Homecoming parade Managers: Autumn Cantrell, Simone Dotson, Kaitlyn Lanigan, Aimee Soriano

  • Secure 5 trucks or flatbed for the event – including drivers.

  • Find out what can be attached to it.

  • Design the float.  The theme for each truch will be each show.

  • Purchase the decorations needed – with the budget given – then turn the receipts in for 

Reimbursement.

  • Set up a poster making event at your (or a friend’s) home.

  • See Gilligan regarding student walkers and students who will be in the back of the vehicle.

  • Be the point of contact with all students participating.

Princess Play Managers: Chloe Burroughs, Autumn Cantrell, Kaitlyn Lanigan, Sydney Ivey Asst. Managers; Sierra Greene, Kylee Clark

  • Assist in the auditions

  • Ensure all actors know all costume aspects they need to provide, such as what type of shoes, etc.

  • Provide (or enlist someone to help) with make-up and hair, as needed.

  • Enlist the help of someone to run sound for the event.

  • Organize and demonstrate to the actors the craft project for the event.

  • Ensure actors help with setting up and break down.

  • Organize the costume fittings as needed before the event.

Super Hero Day Managers: Chance McGill, Aimee Soriano, Kai Macaninch, Asst. Managers: Henley Ellwanger, Sydney Kelly, Robyn Mourad, Krishnan Patel

  • Assist in the auditions

  • Ensure all actors know all costume aspects they need to provide, such as what type of shoes, etc.

  • Provide (or enlist someone to help) with make-up and hair, as needed.

  • Enlist the help of someone to run sound for the event.

  • Organize and demonstrate to the actors the craft project for the event.

  • Ensure actors help with set up and break down.

  • Organize the costume fittings as needed before the event.

Coffee house Managers: Sydney Ivey, Simone Dotsom, Chance McGill, Aimee Soriano Asst. Managers: Sydney Kelly, Sierra Greene, Maia Parker, Jaskirat Arneja

  • Create themed coffee houses.

  • Enlist a crew to set up, and break down, each coffee house.

  • Be responsible for the purchase and pick up all food and beverages for each coffee house, using the limit given – then the turning in of the receipts for reimbursement after each event.

  • Maintain the order at the coffee houses.

  • Assist in advertising the events.

Publicity Directors: Kaitlyn Lanigan, Chance McGill, Megan Sawyer

Oversees all the various aspects of publicity

The schedule is the most critical element - and must be maintained.

General description:

  • Attends all publicity meetings.

  • Assists all publicity team members as needed.

  • Works to ensure everything about the riverside theater maintains the high standards of the  department.

  • Is on top of every deadline.

  • Ensures they have all the correct information - always.

  • Ensure all aspects of their event are organized and ready to go, in a timely manner.

     

Media Team: Megan Sawyer

  • Promotes all public theater events and shows on the web, by the due dates.

  • Obtains a list of the sites, but continually and actively seeks additional ones…. Such as Events Calendar, Weekend Events, Dullesmoms.com

  • Obtains promo videos and ensures they are placed on morning announcements.

  • Works on creative ways to promote the show on the web.

  • Maintains all the accounts, keeping them up to date throughout the year.

  • Works with the team to acquire posters and images to use.

  • Ensures that everyone from a show, or event, is equally shown.

  • Works with other schools to create a LCPS sharing of promotions.

  • Actively Makes our sites visible to all students involved and part of the department, as well as  the entire school.

  • Works to promote, but not during rehearsal time, etc.

  • Creates a schedule with Gilligan for opportunities to photograph events and rehearsals

  • Works with the publicity group to distribute photos and promos for use

  • Creates several promo videos for events and shows.

  • Equally focuses on all members of the cast and crew.

  • Ensures all photos and videos fall within LCPS guidelines and maintain the high standards of the riverside theater department.

  • Places placards in the approved locations – to include using the ground spikes.

  • Retrieves placards by the first Monday after the show, or during strike.

  • Is responsible for posters being placed around the community.

  • Is responsible for sending posters to all appropriate LCPS schools.

  • Is responsible for placing – then removing - posters throughout Riverside.

  • Is responsible for giving posters to key locations (such as day care centers, retirement

Communities, etc) as appropriate for the show.
