LCPS' First Student-Run Workplace Readiness Cafe

It was a dream that our founding department chair, Carole Belkin, had to create a student-run Cafe where students with exceptional needs gain supported experience working in a real-world work setting.  Students inventory, purchase, sell, display, and prepare snacks for student and staff customers for 3 blocks each day.  Our "cold press" coffee is a favorite both hot or cold.

Proceeds from our Cafe fund supplies & materials for our special education students, as well as generous scholarships as part of our Perseverance Award for seniors nominated by teachers as demonstrating the trait of hard work and determination.

Many thanks to our PTSO, our students, paraprofessionals, and of course, our Principal, Doug Anderson, for supporting the dream and providing students with this invaluable experience
