Individual Learning Devices

All students in LCPS receive a school-issued chromebook to use for their learning. Having access to a device to support their learning will help our students practice important success skills that will help them make meaningful contributions to the world. Students will have anytime, anywhere access to the tools, information, and resources that they need to support their learning.

When students are issued their device, they agree to be respectful, responsible, and to take care of the device. A device agreement can be found on ParentVUE.

Loudoun County Public Schools is committed to ensuring our students are safe when working online. To help protect our students from harmful or objectionable material, all internet traffic on student devices is filtered through our internet content filters. This filtering is in place regardless of whether students are using their device at home, at school, or any other wireless network. As an extra layer of protection, LCPS is using a monitoring service to scan the contents of students’ email, Google Drive, and Microsoft OneDrive for inappropriate or concerning content. If content is flagged, it is reviewed and addressed in a means consistent with the level of concern.

Broken Charger?

  • If you have a charger that is broken or no longer working, please bring the charger to our DES, Mrs. Sparrow, and she will help replace it.

Lost Your Charger?

  • If you have LOST your charger, you will need to purchase an authentic Lenovo chromebook charger to replace the lost charger. You may do so by submitting a payment of $30 (cash or check made out to Steuart Weller Elementary School) to the office. When payment has been received, your child will be given a replacement charger. If you have any questions about this, please contact Janice Bowlds (janice.bowlds@lcps.org).

Kindergarten-5th Graders: All students with an assigned computer (PreK-11th grade) planning to return to LCPS next year will maintain possession of their assigned computer over the summer break.  These computers may be used for summer learning programs or securely stored in preparation for the next school year. Our team created this handout to answer questions about how to care for your computer over the summer.

Students withdrawing from LCPS: Students leaving LCPS need to return their Chromebook and charger to Mrs. Fuller in the front office or Mrs. Sparrow in the library no later than Friday, June 17th.

Additional Technology Information:

  • In preparation of new devices, all rising 3rd and 6th grade students will need to remove all personal stickers off their device prior to the beginning of the school year (careful not to remove any LCPS stickers)

  • Students that have lost their charger can purchase a replacement charger by following these directions on our website.
