My name is Brett Johnson, and I’m absolutely thrilled to serve as your sixth grade dean! I grew up in Charlottesville and proudly attended James Madison University (Go Dukes!). After completing my Master’s of Education at JMU, I continued my studies at George Washington University, where I earned my degree in Educational Leadership and Administration.

I met my wife, Kristen, during our time at JMU, and I made the move to Northern Virginia after graduation.

This marks my first year as part of the Trailside Pack, and I couldn’t be more excited! Prior to this role, I taught math at Brambleton Middle School and served as an Instructional Facilitator of Mathematics. In my spare time, I love watching sports—especially baseball, football, and college basketball. I also enjoy cycling along the nearby W&OD trail!

I’m here to support you in every way possible and look forward to making this first year of middle school a fantastic experience for everyone. Go Timberwolves!

6th Grade Counselor

Hi 6th grade students and families! My name is Maria Boisacy and I’m excited for my first year here at Trailside! This is my 12th year as a school counselor.  I grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, and attended Mississippi State University (Go DAWGS), where I earned my bachelor’s in educational psychology and my master’s in school counseling. 

Before becoming a Timberwolf, I spent 9 years as an elementary school counselor in Fairfax, VA and 2 years as a middle school counselor in Florida!

In my free time I love spending time with my husband, Matt, and our two little girls, Lola (3) and Remi (1).  I enjoy traveling, playing golf, watching SEC football, visiting wineries, and taking long walks with our dog, Charlie!

The transition to 6th grade can feel overwhelming for many, but I want you to know that I’m here to support you. Whether you’re facing challenges, need someone to talk to, or are just excited about starting this new chapter, I’m here to help.  I can’t wait to see all the amazing things this year has in store for us and to work with each of you as we navigate this exciting time together!

6th Grade House Secretary

My name is Lorna Davis, and I will be the 6th grade house Administrative Assistant.  This will be my fourth year at Trailside.  Before coming to TMS, I was an LCPS Administrative Substitute for 5 years in schools throughout the county.  Before that, I worked in various Administrative and Management positions.  

I am originally from Long Island New York but have lived in NOVA for over 20 years.  I attended college in West Virginia at Davis and Elkins College where I received my degree in Management, Marketing and Environmental Science.

My husband John and I have 3 children, Thomas 22, Mary 21 and Joseph 19.   In my spare time I love to walk, go hiking with my husband, assemble jigsaw puzzles and spend time with my family and friends.

This year I am very excited to work with our 6th grader class and help them settle into middle school.
