Counseling
Trailside Middle School’s Unified Mental Health Team (UMHT) – comprised of school counselors, psychologist, and social worker – offers mental health services and supports to enhance student social, emotional, and behavioral growth. This team of school-based mental health professionals works with students, families, school staff, and outside providers to promote a positive school environment that supports student success and ability to cope with challenges through direct (e.g., classroom curriculum, group counseling and individual counseling) and indirect (e.g., collaborating or consulting with staff, families or communities) methods.

Course Selection 24-25
The course selection process for next school year begins at the beginning of January. This may seem early to select courses, but this information is very important in regards to staffing decisions and course options for next year.
How are courses selected?
Teachers will be evaluating student performance and data to make recommendations for course levels for next year in January.
Teacher recommendations will be populated automatically into their School Links Course Planner.
Please take these teacher recommendations seriously, and encourage your student to have a conversation with his/her teacher if the student does not agree with a teacher’s recommendation.
The core classes will be locked in School Links Course Planner and can only be changed with the school counselor after a discussion has taken place with the student's teacher .
Counselors will meet with ALL students individually to review each student’s course selection.
Please remember this is a process. Please take advantage of the presentations being offered below as we believe these will answer all of your questions regarding course selection, class options, and elective options.
