Digital Citizenship
Digital Citizenship Overview
To leverage technology for learning, students need to understand how to think critically, behave safely, and participate responsibly online. Trailside is commited to student safety and learning. We implement the nationally-recognized Digital Citizenship curriculum available through Common Sense Media and use teachable moments across the curriculum and school day to discuss and model what it means to be not only a digital citizen, but a digital leader.
Each year, Trailside Middle School completes the required student instruction to fulfill the requirements for becoming a digitally certified school and submits an application to be recognized as a Common Sense School. We invite you to explore the Digital Citizenship Resources for Families, posted on the leftside navigation bar.
Parents and caregivers are encouraged to view the Parent section of the Common Sense Media site to view ratings and reviews for movies, TV, books, games, podcasts, and apps. Additionally, view the Parent Tips and FAQs and consider ways in which you may continue these conversations at home.
