   Loudoun County Public Schools provides special education services for children ages 2 - 21 inclusive.  Students who are identified as eligible for services will have an Individualized Education Program (IEP).  Services can begin as early as 2 years of age.  For information on obtaining services for 2 - 5 year olds, please contact the Child Find office at (703) 771-6476.  Once a student is school-aged you should contact your "home school".  The "home school" is the school that your student currently attends or would attend based on where you live.    If you have questions regarding Special Education, please contact us at 571-252-1011.

Mrs. Breland is a Resource Teacher at Evergreen Mill Elementary.   She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Albany and a Masters degree in Special Education from Simmons College.  Mrs. Breland has also completed additional graduate coursework in the field of education from George Mason University. She enjoys spending time with her family and is very excited to start another year co-teaching as a learning specialist at Evergreen Mill Elementary. Mrs. Spencer is a Resource Teacher at Evergreen Mill Elementary.  She has been teaching at Evergreen Mill since 2019.  Mrs. Spencer has a Bachelor of Science degree in business with a minor in computer science from Towson University in Maryland and a Master’s degree in special education from George Mason University.  Prior to teaching at Evergreen Mill, she was a special education teaching assistant at Cedar Lane Elementary in Ashburn.  She is passionate about teaching students to read and achieving every student’s academic needs.  She believes that every child deserves to learn by utilizing their strengths and affinities.  Mrs. Spencer and her husband are Maryland natives but now call Ashburn, VA their home for 26 years.  Her two children are both Loudoun County Public School graduates and James Madison University and Radford University graduates.  Her daughter is a LCPS fourth grade teacher at Cedar Lane Elementary and her son is a sales representative for Tampko, Inc.  In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, going to the beach and spending time with her family and friends.
