WHAT IS THE MONSTER MASH 5K?
✔ A school-wide event in which all students participate during their PE block. Staff and parents are encouraged to join in the fun!
✔ Participants will: get pledges for the event, run or walk a 5K (6 laps) on the day of the event, and collect money for JL. Simpson.
WHAT ARE THE GOALS OF THE MONSTER MASH 5K
✔ To include the entire Simpson community in a fitness awareness event.
✔ To make this the first of two fundraiser events of the year.
✔ To raise the funds needed to support STUDENT INCENTIVES and PROGRAMMING at Simpson. This includes items for the Tack Shop, Honor Roll celebrations, community support, materials for our Clubs Program, HERD recognitions, and much more!
WHAT DO THE STUDENTS DO FOR THE MONSTER MASH 5K?
✔ Have a TON OF FUN!
✔ Offer pledges to collect money for their school and community.
✔ Proudly wear a Halloween Costume (optional- NO masks PLEASE!) on the day of the event.
✔ Run/walk a 5K (6 laps) around the field behind Simpson MS on the day of the event.
✔ ALL students participate whether or not they have any pledges as part of Health and PE class. :)
WHAT DO THE STUDENTS LEARN FROM THE MONSTER MASH 5K?
✔ Understanding the importance of exercise.
✔ Appreciation of teamwork and school unity at Simpson.
HOW DO I MAKE A PLEDGE FOR MY MUSTANG(S)?
✔ Parents/guardians may pledge donations will be made using the Simpson online payment portal, or by using the link provided here or the QR code at the top of this document: https://lcps.schoolcashonline.com/Fee/Details/41217/371/False/True
✔ Sponsors can pledge a set amount with a minimum of $25.
✔ If families wish to pledge more, you may use the “quantity” button before checkout.
✔ Please type your student’s name in the“Who are you purchasing this for?” line so they can get credit for raising the pledge, and encourage those you ask for pledges to do the same. Students who raise over $200 in pledges during the Monster Mash event will be invited to a SIMPSON SPIRIT open gym and pizza party!

WHEN WILL MY STUDENT RUN THE MONSTER MASH 5K?
✔ Students will run the Monster Mash 5K during their PE block. Parents are welcome to run/walk with their student(s), or come cheer them on. Visitors MUST sign in the main office before heading to the field.
✔ PE Block times are as follows:
Block 1/2 : 8:35 am - 9:55 am
Block 3/4 : 10:35 am - 11:50 am
Block 5/6 : 12:35 pm - 1:50 pm
Block 7/8 : 2:00 pm - 3:15 pm
✔ The rain date for this event will be November 6 & 7, 2024
