Library Policies

Library Hours:  7:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Library Books & Checkout:

Kindergarten students may check out 1 book at a time, then 2 books after the second quarter.

First grade students may check out 1-3 books.

Second grade students may check out 1–3 books.

Third grade students may check out up to 3 books.

Fourth grade students may check out up to 4–5 books.

Fifth grade students may check out up to 5 books.

Circulation Policies:

The check-out period is 2 weeks.  Books may be renewed.  Students will be permitted to check out more books at a time if needed for a class assignment.  Students may return books at any time.

The purpose of the library collection is to support the curriculum at each grade level as well as to foster a life-long love of reading.  A great amount of time and consideration is spent on selecting books for our school library.  In order for our collection to grow, all books must be cared for properly and returned.  It is important that books are returned in a timely manner so that other students and staff can enjoy them.  If a book is damaged beyond repair or lost, it is necessary to collect payment so that we can replace it.

Lessons:

All students in grades K-5 will visit the library once every other week for 50 minutes. All library sessions will consist of a lesson and time to check out books. Lessons will vary by grade level.
