PBIS

PBIS at Little River Elementary School

PBIS is a process for creating safer and more effective schools. PBIS is a systems approach to enhancing the capacity of schools to educate all children by developing research-based, school wide, and classroom discipline systems. The process focuses on improving a school’s ability to teach and support positive behavior for all students.

Our students and staff strive to remember our motto.

There Are Two Rs in River:  Respect and Responsibility

Interesting Facts:

Little River Elementary School adopted Positive Behavior Intervention Support in the 2008-2009 school year.  This framework is utilized throughout our building.

Positive behavioral expectations are taught and reinforced by all members of the LRES staff.   All students may be acknowledged throughout their school day with verbal praise or an "Eagle Feather."  The eagle feathers are collected in the front office and students are selected at random to eat with an administrator in the office.  Classes who earned Eagle Feathers are announced weekly on the morning show.  Interested in learning more?  The following websites provide a wonderful overview of PBIS nationally and here in Loudoun County.
