ASL Hands

"Signs are to eyes, what words are to ears." -Ken Glickman

The American Sign Language(ASL) Club brings awareness about the deaf culture while teaching American Sign Language. The club aims to provide students with basic ASL skills and knowledge of the deaf and hard-of-hearing communities in order to apply ASL to their own lives.

The ASL club host Deaf and sign language awareness opportunities at Park View, including “silent” potlucks and attend events hosted by the Deaf community in the area.

In this club students will learn fingerspelling, basic vocabulary in a variety of topics, ASL grammar, the history of the language and what is Deaf culture.

The club is about developing skills to create connections with and become allies to members of the Deaf community.
