Career and Technical Education at Park View is made up of four distinct areas: Business and Information Technology, Family and Consumer Science, Marketing Education, and Technology Education to meet the needs of our students.

Work-Based Learning

Patriot Preschool is a laboratory training site for the Early Childhood Education Program. The Early Childhood Education Program is a Family and Consumer Sciences course for high school students.

The Preschool enrolls three and a half and five years old children two days a week (Tuesday and Thursday or Monday and Wednesday). The session operates from  11:00 am until 2:00 pm, and costs $450.00 for the year. 

The Preschool class is taught by the Early Childhood Teacher and the secondary students enrolled in the Early Childhood Education classes.

Teacher Cadet Program

The Teacher Cadet program in Loudoun County Public Schools is a  “grow your own” dual-enrollment (DE) program offered through career and technical education (CTE).  The program consists of Teacher Cadet I DE and Teacher Cadet II DE offered to high school juniors and seniors, respectively, who are interested in pursuing a career in education.  “The program is designed to attract future teacher candidates from high school students to the field of education through exposure to a world-class curriculum and hands-on experience that focuses on teaching” (Virginia Department of Education, n.d.).
