Merit Scholarships

Merit Scholarships are offered by the college you apply to based on your GPA and SAT/ACT scores. You generally do not need to apply separately to be awarded one of these scholarships. Some colleges will have a Priority Deadline to apply. Check the college's website to be sure.

To know if a college offers merit scholarship, particularly for out of state schools, go to the college website and search "out of state scholarships." In state school scholarships are fairly limited. Further note, private schools often offer a lot of merit scholarship.

College Specific Scholarships:

Most colleges offer some type of scholarships. The public colleges tend to divide the scholarships for in-state and out-of-state residents. If you go to the college website and search scholarships you will get links to merit based and need based scholarships. This will vary greatly by college. Your colleges will automatically review you for financial aid if you identified them as part of your FAFSA application.
