Music
Welcome to music at Rolling Ridge! I am happy to be a part of the Rolling Ridge community, and am looking forward to a fun and musical year. There are many exciting things planned for the students this year as we work toward mastery of the Loudoun County Music Curriculum.
Students in grades K-5 participate in music once a week for 50 minutes. Each grade is working on ear training, reading notes and rhythms, moving to music, singing, proper performance practices, pitched and unpitched percussion instrument technique, chording instrument technique (ukulele), composition, music history, influential composers, instrument identification (both visually and aurally), and music technology. In addition, grades 4 and 5 will enhance their musical skills and learn woodwind instrument technique by playing recorders. Students in grades 4 and 5 also have the opportunity to participate in the Rolling Ridge Rockin' Roadrunner Chorus.

I look forward to an excellent year!
