Rolling Ridge has 3 reading specialists who serve the school as literacy leaders, trainers, instructional coaches, co-teachers and interventionists.   

Our reading program at Rolling Ridge is diversified.  In grades K-5 ,  a comprehensive literacy approach is taken utilzing Phonological Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Comprehension and Vocabulary.   Reading is delivered through many modalities such as individual instruction, small group, and whole group instruction.  The reading specialists work alongside the teachers in the classrooms  to model, coach and support as well as teach small intervention groups in the reading room.  Our instruction at Rolling Ridge is based on student needs to ensure every student has access to reading instruction.   We look forward to another great year at Rolling Ridge!
