World Languages & Cultures

The World Languages and Cultures program at Stone Hill Middle School begins in the 7th or 8th grade. Students have the option to select French, German, Latin, or Spanish as a year-long elective course.  Each language follows the LCPS proficiency-based curriculum.  With a blend of traditional and acquisition driven instructional strategies, students use the four skills of speaking, reading, writing, and listening to communicate in the target language. Students will routinely practice the ā€œ5 Cā€™sā€ of Collaborator, Communicator, Contributor, Creator and Critical Thinker that move them toward the Profile of an LCPS Graduate.
