Loudoun County Public Schools Head Start Program provides a quality preschool experience with comprehensive services at no cost to qualifying low-income families.
Head Start Mission
It is the purpose of the LCPS Head Start program to promote social competence and enhance school readiness of low-income children by focusing on their cognitive and social/emotional development in a learning environment that supports their growth in:
language and literacy
math and science
art and physical skills; and
through the provision of:
health services
educational services
nutritional services
social services
and disabilities services
The services provided are based on family needs and goals. The Head Start staff follow the guidelines in the Head Start Program Performance Standards and the Head Start Act to provide services.
