Woodgrove High School currently offers 3 classes for orchestra:

• Concert Orchestra

  • pre-requisite: prior experience in orchestra or private lessons on violin, viola, cello, bass, piano, or harp

  • encouraged for rising 9th grade musician

• Symphonic Orchestra

  • focus on developing advanced techniques, improving tone, intonation, and musicianship

  • perform in 3 concerts each year

  • pre-requisite: audition with musical except and major & melodic minor scales (2 octaves)

• Chamber Orchestra

  • focus on advanced techniques, perfecting tone, sound, and musicianship

  • perform in 4 concerts each year

  • pre-requisite: audition with musical excerpt, all major & melodic minor scales (up to 3 sharps and 3 flats), and sight reading grade 4 repertoire
