Mahlet Abdalla

My name is Mahlet Abdalla and this is my 13th year with LCPS and it has been a privilege to have completed the last decade here at Broad Run! I am a Social Science & Global Studies teacher (shout out to my freshies!) and mom to a very sassy 10-year-old named Kaylah. I enjoy any opportunity to help serve the Broad Run community.

As an Equity Lead in my 4th year in this role, I hope to empower students to be motivated and take ownership of their learning and feel welcomed. I firmly agree with LCPS that one of the priorities is to promote a “diverse, inclusive, equitable and socially-just teaching and learning” opportunity for all students and faculty. 

I love Broad Run and want to be a part of anything that will help it to be an even better place for our staff and students. Let’s celebrate our diversity together and take strides to understand one another better!
