ClassFlow is an online teaching tool from Promethean, makers of our Interactive Whiteboards. Teachers can push their flipcharts to student devices with this tool and students can respond to prompts/polls as well.
Edmodo
Edmodo is a social networking website for teachers, students, and parents. It is marketed as the Facebook for schools. Teachers can invite students into private groups that can be used for online classroom discussions, but in a format that keeps the teacher firmly in control. Teachers should see your school's TRT for account information.
Kahoot is a cool formative assessment tool for classrooms that is not platform specific. It is web based and works on all types of devices. It allows the teacher to give pre-made or impromptu quizzes and polls, while adding in an element of gamification to the classroom.

A free polling tool to engage your students in the content.
Create the flashcards using Quizlet and students can select the format of the quiz they take, and it grades it instantly when they finish answering the set of questions. Students can begin with the flashcards and then take the quiz as many times as they want. Quizlet has a limited collection of images you can add to the flashcards with the free version, or purchase the subscription and you can add your own images. Very quick and easy to get started. Permits copy and paste from your vocabulary lists.

Safari Montage
On demand video instructional tool. Students use their network login and password to access videos related to curriculum.
Skype, a free video conferencing service, can be downloaded to most any device, even Xbox. There is also a portable version you can run on a flash drive. You can also now create your own class Skype account through your Microsoft Account (using your Outlook username and password). Visit Skype for details on what version to download.
Socrative is a free student response system that works on any device or browser, no clickers required since responses can be submitted from any wifi capable device. It is a formative assessment online tool that provides real-time data and saves a ton of time on grading and checking understanding while provides the opportunity for high levels of student engagement. It helps teachers get a better view into student understanding in the moment. Use Socrative for better formative assessment to help improve teaching and learning.
