Freedom High School Students Score High on the PSAT

The results of the PSAT/NMSQT and the PSAT 8/9 have been published for students. Freedom High School students scored higher on average than testers at the district, state, and global level. This trend extended to both subscores, where students continued to perform higher on average. The slides included here show the numbers of testers within each group and average scores across those groups for both the PSAT/NMSQT and the PSAT 8/9.

While not explicit in the data, all staff should take a moment of pride and congratulations as contributors to a positive learning environment where students thrive and have the ability to excel above their peer groups both locally and around the globe. Thank you for your continued commitment to students and their excellence! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the Testing Coordinator!

For the past 7 years, Freedom High School has held a charity prom. As funds from ticket sales and individual fundraising were donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, we have donated over $100,000. Thus, Freedom High School has been commemorated with a donation plaque, which was recently installed on the Supporters Wall at their main campus in Memphis, Tennessee. Congratulations to the students and staff who have helped FHS reach this fantastic milestone!

Freedom High School Families, we want to hear your views on technology and learning! Be a part of the conversation happening across the state! Throughout January and until February 9th, we will be participating in the Virginia Speak Up Research Project for Digital Learning. The national Speak Up is the first survey designed to help families share their ideas directly with schools and national policymakers. Speak Up provides parents and guardians with a mechanism for expressing their views to the administrators at their child(ren)’s school and district about key issues impacting their child(ren)’s education. To take the survey, click here.

Information from FHS Parents and Guardians Requested for Accreditation

Every six years, Freedom High School undergoes a review to maintain accreditation. The review entails examining multiple forms of data focusing on our school culture, leadership, student engagement, and growth. We are asking parents and guardians to complete the survey located here. The survey is also linked below. This survey is to help Freedom High School understand the quality of services provided to learners and their families. Additionally, the survey results can be used to support the continuous improvement process. Your responses are anonymous, and no individual results are reported. The survey should take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. You should only take the survey once. Thank you for your support.

Cognia Survey for Families

Click here or on the poster above to purchase tickets for A Play About a Dragon.

During the performance, there are references to death and war but also a focus on the importance of family.
