UpsideDown Moments' Mission
HELPING CHILDREN IN THEIR MOMENTS OF NEED
UpsideDown Moments (UDM), strives to provide clothing and basic household items to the youth of Loudoun County and surrounding areas.
Children, newborn through 17 years of age, who are placed into foster care are moved quickly and many times only arrive with the clothes on their back. It is during these moments of their lives they need to experience some normalcy, as everything ordinary has been turned upside down.
Young adults, who have aged out of foster care, ages 18-21 years, have a different need, one for household items, as they begin their new life adventure, and set up their first "home".
It is UpsideDown Moments' goal to assist both groups of foster youth in meeting their basic needs, and in doing so, improving their self-confidence and well-being until their lives are upside right once again!

“Bag-to-Go” Program
Started in 2016 because of the emergency need and demand of clothing for client’s that cannot wait to attend the next store day. Bag to Go request forms are submitted by case managers or social workers who gathers information on the women and children’s clothing and shoes sizes and other information to help a volunteer that packs the bag can pick out appropriate clothing for the client and children. Majority of WGB’s Bag to Go requests come from domestic violence shelters as they are fleeing their abusers with nothing but the clothes on their back. We also receive Bag to Go orders from Human Trafficking and Inmate Re-Entry programs as well as Government Agencies such as FBI Victim Services. The Bag to Go is picked up by the case manager/social worker /agent.

For 29 years, we’ve been paying families to recycle their great kids’ stuff. Each year Kid to Kid stores across the country buy and sell over 2 million items. That means real cash money into the pockets of families in our community – giving a new meaning to SHOP LOCAL! Even more importantly – it means families are saving millions of dollars by shopping at Kid to Kid. It means a better life for their kids and a better life for their neighbor’s kids. Thank you for being a part of the caring, sharing community at Kid to Kid!
