With still so many unknowns related to the coronavirus many people are feeling uneasy, scared, and worried. This is normal. Below are some resources that can help us all take a proactive approach to dealing with this public health threat and help our children process and deal with their feelings during this scary time.
For everyone:

Wash your hands with soap and water
Try not to touch your face
Stay home as much as possible
When you do have to go out into the public, keep a safe distance from other people (6 ft. is recommended)
Cough and sneeze into your elbow
For Caretakers:

Limit your child’s access to media sources that may increase their worry
Talk with them about the coronavirus (give facts and consider the developmental appropriateness of the information)
Allow them to ask questions
Express your feelings surrounding this public health concern and encourage your children to do the same
Model coping skills for dealing with fear and worry and support your children in using these skills
