It is Mr. Sheppard's second year at Forest Grove and second year in Loudoun. Mr. Sheppard will be teaching grades 2-5 this year. It is Mr. C's seventh year at Forest Grove, and has been with Loudoun County for twenty-one years. Mr. C will be teaching grades K-1 this year.

In music class, musical elements are taught through singing, listening, playing instruments, and moving. The use and development of the singing voice is a vital component of the music program. Some of the musical elements the students will learn are; rhythm, melody, harmony, form, tone color, and expression. Students will also learn about music history and multicultural music.Throughout the year, students will learn about numerous instruments, musical styles, and composers. 4th Graders will learn the recorder later in the year. 4th and 5th graders will also have the opprotunity to participate in the Falcon Chorus.

Hello, and welcome to music! I am Mr. Sheppard and I am one of the music teachers at Forest Grove. This will be my second year of teaching in Loudoun County and I am very excited to be doing so at Forest Grove. I am from Havre de Grace, Maryland, and I received my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from West Virginia University. In music, we will be moving, singing, and dancing to numerous styles and forms of music. We will also be learning about numerous different instruments, composers, and pieces. In my free time, I love watching movies, and spending time helping with the Briar Woods High School band. I cannot wait to see all of my wonderful students again and start learning more about music together!
