Who Are School Counselors?

School Counselors are licensed educators that hold at least a master's degree in school counseling. They are unqiuely trained to meet all students needs in three domains: academic, career, social/emotional development. School counselors address all students needs through a comprehensive program that promotes school success. School Counselors develop and implement a  developmentally appropriate school counseling curriculum which address grade level standards from the Virgina Department of Education (VDOE), as well as, ASCA Mindset & Behaviors for Student Success: K-12 College- and Career- Readiness for Every Student.
