Art

Mrs. Lee

Hello! My name is Shea Lee.  This will be my twelfth year at Liberty and I look forward to working with our Liberty Artists again! The passion I have for helping your children to challenge themselves, stay positive, and develop their skills as artists has only grown throughout my time teaching. I look forward to seeing your children once a week back in the art room!

A little about me: outside of school, I love traveling, baking, working on house projects, and gardening. I'm happiest at the beach or on a boat, and I love spending time with my husband, Mr. Lee (he's a middle school PE teacher!) and our dog, Bingsoo. I love collecting houseplants and anything related to my favorite animal...a wiener dog.

If you ever have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact me

Mrs. de Lima

My name is Lauren de Lima and I am beyond excited to be in Loudoun County for my second year teaching Elementary art, and fourth year of teaching altogether. I was born and raised in Northern Virginia. I went to VCU and graduated with a BFA in painting and printmaking and have a masters in early childhood education. Outside of school, I still live and love art, I enjoy oil painting and lithography, travel often, especially to Portugal, and spending time with my three children (two of whom attend LCPS schools), and our kitty, Blaze. You will see me often on the soccer field with Loudoun Soccer!!

Grading in Art

It is important to know and understand that everyone is an artist!

Below are the assessment descriptors and an explanation of the assessment you will find on your student's report card.

The assessment descriptors on the report card are:

  • 4-(E) Exceeds Standard

  • 3-(M) Meets Standard

  • 2-(P) Progressing to Standard

  • 1-(B) Below Standard

Each art exploration involves a defined set of skills.  Individual assessments for each product are based on a rubric. Students are made aware of the individual expectations through daily project goals statements and other methods of instruction and assessment throughout the production of the artwork.  The report card grade indicates a summary for all the skills taught within that quarter.
