Athletic Director

Welcome to Lightridge High School! It is with great excitement that we enter our 5th year. As we prepare for the school year, we turn to continuing our Mission and Vision in order to best meet the stakeholders of our great community. As I embark on my 19th year in public education, I am thrilled to see the continued growth. I graduated from Tusculum University and began my career as a health and physical education teacher at Farmwell Station Middle School in Ashburn.  During this time, I coached football at Stone Bridge High School and was the Head Baseball Coach at Freedom High School.  I became a charter faculty member in 2014 of Rock Ridge High School where I was the Assistant Athletic Director. In July 2019, I was appointed the Athletic Director of Lightridge High School. Being your Athletic Director is the capstone of my career and I will work to foster an athletic department where students feel safe and secure, valued, and respected.

Assistant Athletic Director

Mr. Brian Schmidt

Assistant Athletic Director

Welcome to Lightridge! As I enter into my 22nd year in education, I am looking forward to working with the Lightridge HS community as your Assistant Athletic Director. Prior to Lightridge, I was a charter faculty member of Rock Ridge HS in the Health and Physical Education Department for six years. Before Rock Ridge, I spent 10 years at Dominion HS where I was also a charter faculty member in the same capacity as Rock Ridge HS. I graduated from James Madison University with a Marketing degree and was in retail management for 10 years before going back to school to obtain my teaching degree from George Mason. For the past 22 years, I have been a head coach in Cross Country, Winter and Spring Track. In my free time I enjoy biking, running and racing ultramarathons on trails in the mountains. I value athletics in my own life and look forward to instilling the same core value to the students and athletes at Lightridge.
