School Hours: School begins at 9:30 AM and ends at 4:18 PM. Any student arriving after 9:30 AM is considered tardy. Students should be in their classrooms by 9:30 AM.

What is chronic absenteeism?

Chronic absenteeism is defined as missing 10 percent or more of the academic year for any reason, including excused absences, unexcused absences, and suspensions.

What types of absences count toward chronic absenteeism?

All absences, whether excused or unexcused, count toward chronic absenteeism.

Are student absences for family trips permitted?

Absences due to family trips or vacations are considered unexcused unless they are due to family emergencies or observations of religious holidays.

How should parents report an absence?

Parents should notify the school prior to, or at the start of, the school day when their child will be absent. If not previously contacted, parents must send written or electronic communication citing the reason for the absence to the principal or designee no later than three days following the student’s return to school.
