We are so excited about meeting all of our second graders in the fall! Second grade is such a wonderful year of learning and growth! We will go on reading adventures that include both fiction and nonfiction books and become experts on the characters in the books we read. We will become programmers who use Scratch and robots, mathematicians who use problem-solving skills, and scientists who study life cycles and the world around us. 

In case you want to get a head start on gathering materials over the summer, here are the links to our second-grade supply list: Boys Girls **please note that there are different lists for boys and girls!** Please make sure that your child brings in a personal pencil box to keep their materials organized at their desk.     

To make sure that your child is well prepared, please practice addition and subtraction facts with your child. Also, READ, WRITE and READ some more! Building reading and writing stamina is a big goal for second graders. They will grow to read for 25-30 minutes independently!

We are so looking forward to our year together and having a lot of fun things planned for our kiddos this year! The first day of school is Thursday, August 24th.
