Technology

Mrs. Burkett, IFT and Mrs. Jackson, DES

In Loudoun County Schools, technology is an integrated skill and activity.  Unlike "special" content areas such as music, physical education, and art, computer activities are intended to be integrated with other content areas rather than function as a stand-alone discipline.  Individual teachers are responsible for content integration and technology-rich lessons.  Mrs. Burkett, Instructional Facilitator of Technology, is available to assist teachers with lesson research, planning and delivery, and Mrs. Jackson, Digital Experience Specialist, is available to assist teachers and students with functional and working operations of physical technology.

As our society becomes ever dependent on technology, our goal is to model appropriate uses of technology to complete tasks across the curriculum in language arts, math, science, social studies and other disciplines.  Throughout the school year, students will engage in a variety of technology-rich learning activities.
