Food Recovery Program is BACK!
Buffalo Trail students will work with our CASA program to collect perishable & non-perishable food for Dulles South Food Pantry (DSFP).
Each day at lunch, CASA students will walk around the lunch room collecting food fellow students do not eat.
At CASA after school, students will then carefully check the date on each item as well as the condition of any fruit. The DSFP does not give out food past the “Use By” or “Best By” dates. Expired perishables or fruit that is too brown or soft go in the trash at school.
The sorted items will be delivered to DSFP on Monday or Wednesday morning between 10-11am and the food will go out for distribution on Tuesday or Wednesday.
If you would like to support this donation effort by driving the food to DSFP please email our Family Liaison, Ginny Beers, at ginny.beers@lcps.org.
