Ms. Judith Ko
As a physical education and health teacher for 16 years, it has been a privilege to touch many lives in different aspects. Broadening children’s horizon and guiding them to different avenues where they are given a chance to shine is a high calling. I feel so blessed to take part in such an endeavor!
Imparting my passion, knowledge, skills, and experiences gained at different institutions and organizations has been so rewarding. I completed my bachelor’s degree in physical education and health at George Mason University. I also earned an associate degree in fine arts at St. Scholastica’s College in the Philippines. Driven by the belief in doing the best in everything I do; I am currently working on my master’s degree in health and wellness at the American College of Education.
At Virginia Academy (VAA), a private school in Loudoun County, I was the elementary PE and health teacher for 11 years. Inspired by my passion and skills in volleyball, I coached the middle school volleyball team for 5 years and won 3 NVIAC championships. While utilizing the different aspects of my PE teaching experiences, I was asked to work in the school’s summer camp program and eventually became the K-5 school age camp coordinator for several years. Moreover, my passion and vast exposure to arts and dance through my sister’s profession as a ballet dancer in the most prestigious ballet company in the Philippines allowed me to be highly involved in the VAA’s musical theater productions, choreographing several dance performances.
My experiences, skills, passions, and achievements helped me gain my position at MCCS as the PE and health, and arts integration teacher. Entering my 4th year at MCCS, I am so excited to yet again execute the purpose I was called to do. I feel so blessed to be a part of such an effort where children are cultivated to become the best version of themselves through physical education, health, and arts!
