Personalized Learning
All students will engage in Personalized Learning in the Core Four areas. In Loudoun County Public Schools, our purpose is for all students to make meaningful contributions to the world.
The way we do that is through designing authentic, challenging learning experiences for Deeper Learning.
We have many instructional and assessment approaches to get us to authentic and deeper learning, including Project-Based Learning (PBL), Performance-Based Assessments (PBA), and Personalized Learning (PL).
We provide equitable learning opportunities and supports that lead to deeper learning for all students.
Watch this brief video for an overview of PL.

The Role of Technology in Deeper Learning
Online Student Safety
LCPS has implemented an active content filter; to help safeguard the safety of students, assist in the security of our networks, to restrict access to undesirable or inappropriate materials based on the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA), and to support enforcement of the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP 3-3) via internet traffic filtering and monitoring.
Our content filter utilizes features and controls to do things like enforce search engine and image viewing restrictions while employing a comprehensive and accurate database, with daily updates, of more than 1 billion entries grouped into education-specific categories.
The Librarians and teachers at Tuscarora HS are teaching Internet Safety lessons using the CommonSenseMedia.org and THS is a Digital Certified School. All students receive digital citizenship lessons in Advisory in each year. Learn more.
