Dear Students and Families,

Welcome to EL at Aldie Elementary School!!  My name is Ms. Erin Miller and I am very excited to be your EL teacher this year.  This will be my twenty-second year teaching in Loudoun County.  For the last eight years I have taught third grade, and prior to that I was a fifth grade teacher, a middle and high school ESL teacher, and an eighth grade language arts teacher.  I look forward to the opportunity of getting to know you and your family this coming school year.  

When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family of furry friends in Shenandoah County, Virginia.  I help as much as I can with animal rescue, so I have acquired several once homeless cats and dogs!  I have many other interests outside of school as well, including cooking, baking, traveling, gardening, and spending time outdoors.  On any given weekend, you will find me trying out new recipes (usually vegetarian) and sharing dishes with family and neighbors.  I love sports and support our DC teams of the Capitals and Nationals. 

This year we will have fun learning!  We will work hard on learning new vocabulary and on developing our reading and writing skills.  You can look forward to exciting activities as I help to co-teach with all of the K-5 teachers at Aldie.  Please check the Aldie Elementary School website and EL page soon for more information about the curriculum, current events, and my contact information.
