Dear Bobcats,

Welcome to Music at Aldie Elementary School!  My name is Mrs. Fumagali and I am very excited to be your music teacher again this year.  This will be my second year teaching Music in Loudoun County.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the College of William and Mary.  I taught for 10 years in Fairfax County (8 years in first grade and 3 years in Kindergarten).  I first started teaching in Loudoun 23 years ago as the kindergarten teacher at Aldie! 

After spending time at home with my children and growing a performing arts studio, I feel so fortunate to have been able to return to Loudoun County Public Schools, serving as a substitute, a long-term substitute, PALS tutor, and site substitute over the last 10 years, the last 4 being at Aldie Elementary.

I grew up in neighboring Fairfax County, immersed in the performing arts.  I started dancing at age 3 in Ballet and Tap and added Jazz and Irish dancing along the way.  I spent lots of after school hours playing flute/piccolo in the band, practicing piano, playing the organ at church, or acting/singing/dancing in school productions.  I am currently certified by examination to teach Irish dancing as well as the Cecchetti method of Ballet.

When I am not in the classroom, I am spending time with my husband and two teenagers, in the studio teaching Irish dance, or outside playing with my dog.   I am looking forward to sharing the joy of an arts-filled life with our Aldie Bobcats!

We will have an exciting year making music!  We will grow in our music literacy as we sing, play instruments, and create our own music.  I’m excited to begin an Aldie chorus and continue with our after-school Glee Club, the Aldie Popcats.
