Scheduled activities on school campuses may be allowed after 12:00 PM. An announcement will be made by NOON. Attend the One LCPS: United for Wellness Conference and Resource Fair, LCPS’ 7th annual mental health and wellness event on Saturday, Jan. 25 from 8:30 to 2:30 at Watson Mountain Middle School. This event reflects LCPS’ focus on supporting all areas of student health and features LCPS education and student support specialists and community partners. These experts will share tips and strategies for promoting your student’s mental health, academic and social engagement and overall wellness. The conference includes a resource fair with local businesses and nonprofits offering services and guidance to support your family. There will also be food trucks, live music and so much more! Loudoun County Public Schools campuses will be closed today, Thursday, January 9, for scheduled after school activities. The Loudoun County School Board Organizational Meeting will continue as scheduled.


After further assessment of neighborhood roads and sidewalks this evening after sunset, we have determined that Loudoun County Public Schools will remain closed Thursday, January 9 due to additional freezing and icy conditions.
Administrative offices will operate on a delayed schedule and will open at 10:00 a.m.
An announcement will be made by NOON on Thursday if after school activities on campuses may take place.
The Annual Loudoun County School Board Organizational Meeting, scheduled for 4:00 p.m. tomorrow, will proceed as planned.

The Annual School Board Organizational Meeting that is scheduled for Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., will be rescheduled to Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. To the extent inclement weather makes it impracticable and unsafe for a quorum of the School Board to meet in person at the Administrative Building at that time, the School Board will plan to hold such rescheduled meeting virtually, to provide for the continuity of its operations. Should that be the case, additional information will be provided prior to that meeting.


Loudoun County Public Schools and Administrative Offices are closed Monday, January 6. All activities on school campuses are canceled.

Plan to attend the Course Planner Learning Session Webinars for Parents/Guardians on Wednesday, Jan. 15. Course Planner is an interactive tool that will assist LCPS staff, students, and families with the academic planning and the course selection process. Parents/guardians of 5th and 6th-grade students are invited to attend a learning session at 6 p.m. and parents/guardians of 7th through 11th-grade students are invited to attend a learning session starting at 7 p.m. If you are unable to attend, these webinars will be recorded and posted to the LCPS School Counseling webpage.
