Library
The John Champe Library is an open, bustling space that welcomes all students and staff. We like to get loud, celebrate the diversity in our school, and create engaging library programs that excite our students and promote STEAM, literacy, and social emotional learning.
Library FAQs
When is the Library open?
The library is open Monday through Friday from 8:45 am - 4:30 pm. While we make every effort to be open before and after school each day, in some cases, our hours may be limited to the school day.
How many books can I check out?
Students and staff may check out as many books as they can responsibly manage. The loan period is 3 weeks. Items may be renewed as often as necessary. However, patrons are asked to return a material at the next due date if it has been requested by someone else.

Do you charge any fees?
We do not charge fines for overdue materials. If students have overdue books, they are still allowed to check out additional items. The library sends regular overdue emails to the email addresses on file in Phoenix. They are reminded to return or to renew the items.
At the end of the school year, a deficiency will be issued for overdue books and the return of or payment for the missing materials is expected before the last day of school.
All students can log in to our library catalog with their LCPS credentials to check their library account.
When a book is lost or damaged beyond repair, payment is to be made through the Online Payment Portal.
