About Mathematics

Our Vision:

As John Champe mathematics teachers, we will create an engaging environment that guides students to advance to their fullest potential as responsible, confident, and self-actualizing learners who will contribute to an ever-changing society.

Our Goals:

  • Utilize technology in a meaningful way, both in instruction and communication

  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders to develop a strong math program within the community

  • Develop mathematical fluency, critical thinking, and problem solving skills in students

  • Increase students’ confidence in their ability to solve mathematical situations

Calculus Resources

Need help in AP Calculus AB or AP Calculus BC?  Here are some helpful websites for tutorials and practice!

Also, don't forget everything College Board offers!

AP Calculus AB Free Responses

AP Calculus BC Free Responses

Guide to AP Calculus AB-BC Practice Multiple Choice and Free Response -

https://www.albert.io/ap-calculus-ab-bc/questions

(Click on topic and then practice!  You are not limited to the two topics that say "free".  You can click on any of the topics to view the questions.  Unfortunately you have to pay to get the actual answer, but it at least gives you questions to try.  You can ask your calculus teacher to check your answer if needed!)

Learnerator AP Multiple Choice Practice

(Easy and moderate level questions are free!)

McGraw Hill AP Multiple Choice Practice -

Problem of the Day - Complete a calculus problem each day!  Solutions are posted the following day in a power point.

Paul's Online Notes - Guided notes on every calculus topic!  If you are ever confused about a topic in class or feel that you would like to see another way to view a problem, check this site out!

Selected Answers to Textbook Problems - step-by-step guidelines on how to solve the ODD problems in the textbook

CalcChat

College Cengage

Calculus.org - sample problems with step-by-step guidelines; sample exam questions (even from different colleges); links to other great calculus sites... basically a lot of links to a lot of calculus related websites.  Worth checking out for extra support!

MathXTC - Power point downloads that explain some of the math topics that we will be exploring throughout the year (mostly pre-calculus and math analysis topics though). Topics are explained in a simple, clear, step-by-step manner, with explorations behind the "why" and "how" of the concept, all displayed in a visually appealing and easy-to-understand way.  I recommend checking this site out if you are absent, or if you want to see a lesson presented differently, or if you have forgotten something we learned in the past.

Khan AcademyVideos demonstrating steps of various mathematical concepts.  I would suggest using this site if you are absent, if a topic in class was not completely clear, or if you would just like to see a step-by-step procedural way of solving a problem (not for conceptual understanding of a topic).
