Family Liaison

Hello Knight families!

My name is Patricia (Minardi) Mars, and I am excited to serve as your Family Liaison. I grew up in New York City and completed my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and my Master’s in Special Education at St. Joseph’s University. I moved to Virginia in 2002 to teach in Fairfax County.  After my children started school, I began volunteering at my local elementary school in Loudoun County. In addition to being your Family Liaison, I have been a substitute teacher in LCPS since 2017. I currently live in the Dulles South area with my husband and our 3 children.

As your Family Liaison, I am here to ensure your child has the resources they need for a successful school experience. These resources look different for every family. Some examples include food, clothing, medical needs, or school supply assistance. I can also help with connecting families to the appropriate LCPS staff. If you or someone you know needs assistance, please contact me. All information shared will remain confidential. I can be reached at Patricia.Minardi@lcps.org or 703 – 722 -2680 ext. 80265. I will do my best to be of assistance.

A Family Liaison is an LCPS staff member who acts as an advocate for all students and families within the school community. They do this by connecting families with the information, resources, and services they need to help with situations that may impact a student's success or a family's engagement with the school. These situations can include economic hardship, illness, language or cultural divides, family dynamics and more. Given the past pandemic, many families may find themselves navigating new circumstances and needing support. There are opportunities for families to both receive and/or provide assistance.
