Career And Technical Education

Welcome to Loudoun County High School Career and Technical Education

  • What is CTE?

There is a growing need in the U.S. Workforce to obtain well-trained, quality employees who are prepared for the challenges that our global economy desperately needs. Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs in Virginia public schools prepare today's students for tomorrow by offering quality hands-on learning in a "real-world" context. CTE's mission is to ensure that every graduate is prepared for the challenges of post-secondary education and the workplace.

  • Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs)

CTSO’s are co-curricular (integrated with instruction) and provide Virginia students with opportunities to apply academic, technical and employability knowledge and skills necessary in today’s workforce. These co-curricular student organizations are integrated into the classroom experience to provide additional learning opportunities for developing leadership skills and enhancing the student's perspective of the world through field trips, guest speakers, competitive events, and conferences.

“CTSOs prepare students for individual and group leadership responsibilities to the family, school, community, state and nation” – James F. Lane, Superintendent of Public Instruction

CTSOs at Loudoun County High School include:

    • DECA

    • Educators Rising

    • Future Business Leaders of Amercal (FBLA)

    • Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA)
