Student Qualifications for Nomination to the SHS
Membership for a student in the SNHS is conferred during the last two years of secondary school education. A student must have and maintain a 3.7 weighted grade point average across all subjects and have a science weighted grade point average 3.85 to be a member. In addition, the following qualifications must be met and maintained:
If you are applying as a junior, you must have done of the following scenarios:
Taken research earth science as a freshman and research biology as a sophomore and currently be taking research chemistry
Taken research biology as a freshman and research chemistry as a sophomore and currently taking an upper level science course - an AP class or Honors Physics
If you are applying as a senior, you need to have completed the above requirements and currently be enrolled in an upper level science course - an AP class or Honors Physics
