About Us 

Welcome to Farmwell Station Middle School, a School To Watch and Home of the Falcons! At Farmwell Station we are committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment in which students can focus on their academic achievement. Farmwell Station Middle School serves the student population of the Broad Run Cluster. Our feeder schools include Dominion Trail Elementary, Ashburn Elementary, and Discovery Elementary. We have many programs and opportunities for our students to foster both their academic potential and their social growth.

Our motto is “Effort Creates Achievement.” The staff is dedicated to providing students with the resources and support they need to be successful. Interdisciplinary teams are in place to serve the needs of our students and to provide a personal experience for our students in these important formative years. The teams focus on building relationships, connecting concepts and skills across the curriculum, establishing common expectations, and working together to communicate effectively to our parents. High expectations and excellence are top priorities at Farmwell as we strive for each student to put forth their maximum “effort” in their quest to become successful learners.

PhilosophyOur part in the lifelong process of education is to contribute to the development of attitudes, habits, skills, knowledge, and understanding necessary for meeting life situations effectively in a changing society. Maximum development can best be achieved when teachers and parents work together to help children accept their share of responsibility for learning. Our school environment combines structure and spontaneity. Students are valued and given opportunities for success. They face the future with curiosity and confidence as they learn a variety of socially appropriate responses to life.

The PresentStaying effective with research in middle school practices, Farmwell Station utilizes collaborative teams and block scheduling to enlarge the instructional program and to engage students in their learning. Collaborative teams allow students to work with a team of teachers who meet regularly to provide an aligned, cohesive curriculum.  Each team also coordinates instructional topics and projects.

The PastFarmwell Station Middle School was dedicated in the fall of 1995. The name originated from the only train stop located in Ashburn.
