Guilford Family,

My name is Rolando Tillman, and I am excited for the 2023-2024 school year at Guilford. I am looking forward to continuing building long-lasting relationships with the returning Guilford staff, students, and the community. As your Principal, I will promote and nurture a culturally responsive environment that assures a fair opportunity
for all learners to grow socially, emotionally, and mentally. I will strive to make a major impact on our school community in and outside of our school building.

I have fourteen years of educational experience spanning grades PK-12, with a concentration in health and physical education, community counseling, and school administration. My most recent experience was as an elementary assistant principal at Horizon Elementary within LCPS. Prior to my administrative experience, I held roles as health and physical education teacher, school safety chair, school activities director, and resource team lead. I also have coaching experience as a middle school baseball and basketball coach. I am one of 4 boys hailing from Long Island, New York! I am a proud graduate of Virginia State University and Longwood University.

At Guilford we will maintain a safe, welcoming, affirming, and inclusive learning environment for all learners. 

As we continue to encourage families to be partners in the educational process, I will remain accessible in a variety of ways to maximize active communication efforts with the Guilford community.
