How do I get my club or activity announcement on the news show?

Option 1: Submit a "commercial" to Mr. Horvath

Record your own video advertising your event in landscape (horizontal) format. Submit the video by the end of the day on Wednesday of the week that you want it aired.  Please try to limit commercials to no more than 20 seconds. 

Option 2: Sign up to be club/activity of the week

Club sponsors can sign up to be the featured club for recruiting new members or to build awareness of what your club does.  Record your own video advertising your club in landscape (horizontal) format.  Share the video with Mr. Horvath by the end of the day on Wednesday of the week that you want it aired. This is sort of a club fair-type video and can be up to 60 seconds in length.

Option 3: Submit an announcement slide (you can also do option 1 as well)

To fit on our website, slides must be 1500 px wide by 800 px tall.  This is not a usual presentation slide size.  We provide two template options as well as PowerPoint directions below to help you.

Please save your finished slide as a jpg or png image file.  We will need a one or two sentence summary of the most important points from your slide.  This is for ADA compliance reasons. Help pages for each of the three presentation programs are linked below.

When you are done making your slide, submit it using the form linked below or in LCPS GO for admin approval.  We will need a one or two sentence summary of the most important points from your slide.  This is for ADA compliance reasons. If your slide includes a QR code, the form will also ask for the URL that the QR code sends people to.

After admin approves, the slide will be posted on the school website slideshow, CCTV, Remind @jcAnnounce, and the school Schoology feed.  Please note the Friday News Show production schedule, if you want your slide shown there.  We also encourage videos of “commercials” that can be shown on the news show instead of the slide. 

Update: News show is currently on hiatus while students work on other projects.  Mr. Horvath can help you produce and distribute your own video to advertise your club/event/activity/class.
