Mission Statement and Policies

Vision and Mission

Vision
All students access and use information tools for age and grade appropriate tasks.

Mission
The mission of the SBHS library program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information, empowering them to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information.

Visiting the Library

Students may visit the library before and after school without a pass. Visits during the school day require eHall passes as follows:

Study Hall: Students should request an eHall pass from the study hall teacher.

Lunch: Students can make their own eHall pass (from Cafeteria to Library). Students may come to the library at the beginning of the lunch period or after eating  in the cafeteria. No food is permitted in the library. Students visiting during lunch should remain in the library until class resumes.

Circulation Policy

Books and audiobooks may be checked out for three weeks or renewed for longer periods. Reference books may be checked out overnight or longer upon request.  There are no fines charged for overdue materials; however, there is a charge for lost materials. See a librarian for assistance.
