First Grade

Hi families! My name is Cheyenne Anderson. This will be my 16th year teaching first grade at Lowes Island. I grew up in New York and moved to Virginia to attend the University of Richmond. I graduated in 2009 with a major in Psychology and a minor in Elementary Education. I have my Master’s of Education degree with a concentration in Literacy from George Mason University.

I live in Ashburn with my husband and 6 year old daughter. She will be in first grade this year! I enjoy reading, cooking, traveling, running, and spending time with family and friends.

I truly strive to live each day to its fullest. I plan to create a safe and welcoming learning environment for my students to help them all reach personal success. I am looking forward to a great year!

Mrs. Bigden is excited to start her 14th year of teaching. She is originally from Maryland, but moved to Virginia a few years ago. She received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Mount St. Mary’s University and a Master’s in Special Education from Towson University.

Mrs. Bigden’s favorite thing to do is spend time with her family. She lives in Ashburn with her husband, 12 year old step-daughter (Emmie), 4 year old son (Auggie), and golden retriever (Destiny). She loves to take her kids out to the playground and go for long walks. She also loves to go visit her family at the beach in North Carolina.

In the classroom, Mrs. Bigden works to create a safe and welcoming environment where all students can achieve academic success. She looks forward to a great year at Lowes Island!
