Third Grade

Hi everyone! My name is Laken Abretski and I'm so excited for another great year in third grade at Lowes Island Elementary!

I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA (Go Steelers!) and I received my bachelor's degree at Slippery Rock University. I moved to Virginia to start teaching in 2016. During my free time I love reading, hiking, spending time with friends and family, and traveling around the world. I am looking forward to meeting my new students and can’t wait to build a love of learning with my students this year!

Hi Lowes Island families! My name is Aly Brocker (pronounced "Broker"). This is my third year at Lowes Island Elementary. I'm excited to continue being a part of such a wonderful community and your child's third grade teacher! I am from Ashburn, Virginia, and am a graduate of Loudoun County Public Schools. Returning to the county that cultivated my passion for learning and teaching was a dream of mine since I was in third grade.

l also graduated from James Madison University with my Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts in Teaching degrees. Go Dukes! During my free time, I enjoy reading, spending time with family and friends, playing sports, and listening to music. I am looking forward to meeting all my new students and watching them grow! We are going to have a fantastic year together!

Hello everyone! My name is Miss Caracciolo and I am excited to be returning to third grade!

I am a graduate of Loudoun County Public Schools, and I feel very passionate about giving back to our students and community here at Lowes Island. I graduated from James Madison University with my Bachelor's and Master's degrees. I love reading, spending time with my family, and traveling to new places!

Third grade is an amazing year full of independence, growth, and discovery! I am so happy to be sharing my passion for teaching and learning with all of the wonderful students and families at Lowes Island.

Hi Lowes Island families! My name is Mrs. Lacny, pronounced (loss' - nee), and I am excited to begin a new school year. I am a Pennsylvania native and earned my bachelor’s degree in education from Penn State. Soon after graduation, I moved to Virginia with my husband and have lived here ever since! We have three adult children who live in the area and a little dog named Tucker.

I have been a teacher at Lowes Island since 2009. Most of those years have been spent teaching third grade, where I am thrilled to be! Our classroom is all about kindness, respect and having a little fun all while learning and doing our very best. I love teaching third graders, and I am excited about meeting each of you!
